The SPP ICS is a scientific research programme in information technologies and telecommunications sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Main research themes of the SPP ICS are Engineering of
distributed applications and the associated networks in general
as well as quality, security and management
aspects. "Demonstrator projects" validate prototypes
produced.

At the end of 1997, the experts' group of the SPP ICS decided to
start an additional initiative:
Competence Network for applied R&D in Electronic Commerce: CNEC 1998-99
This networked competence center will be active until the end of 2001 (CNEC 2000-01).
User guidelines to results of the SPP ICS:
The research result of the 50 projects of the SPP ICS have been condensed into key results and ordered according to groups of potential users and to topics. Consult the user guidelines, to gain an overview over results pertaining to particular user groups and themes

SPP IF: Swiss Priority Programme for Informatics Research 1992-1995

SPP IF (Swiss Priority Programme for Informatics research) was the name of the 1992-1995 phase of the same research programme. Research themes were "Secure, Distributed Systems", "Knowledge Based Systems" and "Massively Parallel Systems".
