Closing activities for projects of the SPP ICS

06.04.00

1) Final scientific report

All projects of all priority programmes of the National Science Foundation have to hand in a final scientific report.
Text already produced for the Informatik/informatique articles can be used to fill in the questions to answered in prosaic form. A second part of the report asks for statistical information.
The content of the reports are confidential, statistical data will be published in an aggregated form.

The three report forms (two in Word 97, one in Excel 97 format) can be downloaded here
as zip-archive (44 KB) or as
as self-extracting zip-archive (69 KB)

The deadline for handing in the report is as usual 6 weeks after the official end of the project (31.12.99 or 31.03.00).

2) Conference proceedings

The printed version of the proceedings of the Symposium of 22 February 2000 and of the Closing Conference of 15 March 2000 are available for project members. Please contact the programme management.

3) Final financial report

Since the expenses for the closing conference have to be included, the deadline for the final financial statement has been postponed to a few weeks after this event, typically end of April 2000.
Further prolongation for the achievement of PhD thesis have already been granted in writing by the National Science Foundation.

5) " Chains"

Potential users of results of the SPP ICS are faced with the problem of having to browse through all projects or at least all project titles to find out what could be interesting to them.
In the ACTS programme, a new method has been used to ease the access to the results of the projects and it is intended to apply a somewhat simplified version to the SPP ICS (for those interested in ACTS results, see http://www.actsline.org/ ).

The projects will be asked to formulate their main result(s) in a very succinct manner and to specify
a) to which topical area out of a list they belong and
b) which potential users out of a list they could interest.

In this way a two dimensional index is built in that gives access to the main results (software, methods, demonstrators, technological insights, proposal for future work, guidelines) and therefore to the projects an their sites.

The projects of the Competence Network for Electronic Commerce have already filed in necessary information and the guidelines for the CNEC projects can be seen on the corresponding page.
In a second round, all other projects of the SPP ICS have been asked to fill out the questionnaire until Friday 07.04.00.

A filled-in example is available here.
