Project No.: 5003-045938 01.03.96 - 28.02.98
Project leader:
Dr. Alexander Herrigel, r3 security engineering, Aathal (now with
Securights Ltd, Zurich)
e-mail: Herrigel@usa.net
Name of project: The analysis, design and implementation of the ETSI security architecture for global IN CS-2 systems
Partners: -
Funding: Sfr 386,688.-
Summary:
The international telecommunications community developed the
Intelligent Network (IN) concept in an attempt to keep pace with
the headlong development of voice, data and video services by the
rapid creation of new services. As the ITU and ETSI standards are
now moving towards the internetworking of systems in a
multi-vendor environment, interdomain security is of growing
importance. ETSI is in the process of developing a
secure-architecture specification.
This project follows on from the SPP IF project by the same applicant, which was brought to a successful conclusion, and addresses security architecture on an industrial platform in a realtime environment by Tandem Computers.
Cooperation:
In the r3 security engineering company, the lead applicant brings
to IN security the know-how from SPP IF as well as its knowledge
from the standardization work with ETSI; the development lab of
the partner Tandem Computers AG and that of its Swiss
representative are contributing hardware and software as well as
the experience of an IN manufacturer.
