Summary:
Business-to-business Electronic Commerce is expected to expand dramatically in the coming years. Information technology is opening up new perspectives for request-for-proposal processes.

This project has three goals:

1. to develop a business model taking into account strategic, organizational and change management aspects;
2. to perform an in-depth reflection on document management and business-to-business interfaces;
3. to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach through its implementation in an electronic market, integrating steps 1 and 2.

The output of the research is a functional prototype of an electronic market to form the basis of a generic future request-for-proposal platform. Existing technologies and components are used.

Cooperation: To achieve the goal of supporting request-for-proposal processing, the research team counts the following partners with their expert knowledge:

• the electronic-market expertise of the University of Lausanne and the Pioneers Research & Consulting Group Sàrl, Féchy, particularly in business-to-business and strategic analysis;
• document management know-know of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL);
• business-to-business interface concepts of the University of Geneva.
